Servings: 4-6 Prep Time: 5-8 minutes Total Time: 35-40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 Large potatoes
  • Pepper
  • Paprika
  • Turmeric

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. For air fryers, it usually takes about 25 minutes to cook.
  2. Choose your potatoes. You can use white potatoes or substitute them with sweet potatoes or even red potatoes. For sweet potatoes, it’s best to remove the skin. Cut the potatoes into French fry shapes, as skinny or as large as you prefer.
  3. Prepare a baking sheet by spraying it with canola or olive oil spray. Place the potato slices on the sheet in a single layer.
  4. Spray the potato slices with canola or olive oil spray for a crispy texture. Season with pepper, paprika, and turmeric for added flavor. You can also experiment with other condiments such as red pepper for some heat.

Tips to Enhance and Make Healthier:
  1. Use Healthy Cooking Spray: Opt for an olive oil spray with no artificial additives. This reduces the amount of oil used and keeps the fries healthier.
  2. Choose Sweet Potatoes: Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamins and fiber. They can be a healthier alternative to regular potatoes due to their lower glycemic index.
  3. Experiment with Spices: Aside from pepper, paprika, and turmeric, try using herbs like rosemary, thyme, or garlic powder for additional flavor without extra calories.
  4. Baking Option: If you prefer an even healthier option, bake the fries instead of air frying them. Baking requires less oil, making the fries lower in fat.
  5. Serve with Healthy Dips: Pair your fries with a homemade salsa, Greek yogurt-based dip, or guacamole instead of high-calorie condiments.
